Trypan blue, an azo-based, hydrophilic, acidic blue dye, permeates the cell membranes of dead and dying cells, staining them blue. Live cells, due to the integrity of their cell membranes, exclude trypan blue. Therefore, live cells (which appear transparent and colorless) can be distinguished from dead cells by the color change. Based on this principle, this product is widely used in routine assessments of cell viability. All components of this kit are provided sterile and can be used directly in cell-based experiments.
