EdU is a thymidine analog detected via click chemistry and is suitable for cell proliferation studies in vitro and in tissue sections from animal models.
EdU is suitable for in vivo labeling and exhibits high detection sensitivity and stability. Target tissues can be prepared as paraffin or frozen tissue sections for testing. Compared to BrdU assays, EdU detection does not require DNA denaturation or antibody incubation, enabling faster processing and improved preservation of cell morphology.
5-EdU is used to measure de novo DNA synthesis during the S-phase of the cell cycle, an alternative to BrdU, and is cell permeable. EdU is also suitable for in vitro cell proliferation assays and for labeling proliferating cells in tissue samples from mice, rats, and other animal models.
