Alamar Blue is a redox indicator produces fluorescence, used for quantitative analysis of cell viability, proliferation and in vitro cytotoxicity studies.
Alamar Blue is a cell viability assay reagent with resazurin, a non-toxic, weakly fluorescent dye that measures cell health and proliferation. This assay is based on the ability of viable cells to generate a reducing environment during proliferation, characterized by increased ratios of intracellular redox couples such as NADH/NAD, NADPH/NADP, FADH/FAD, and FMNH/FMN.
